Another Update on the Free To Play!

Well time is coming close for the free to play era of Irth Online, we are working hard to try and get the client ready for download and things are looking pretty good! So hopefully it will not be much longer.

We are working several avenues at once here to try and make things as smooth as possible.

With the expected large number of downloads to happen at once, we are probably going to set up a torrent as well as a limited amount of how many people can download the game at once from the site. Though we should have enough capacity to handle many at a time, we will have to monitor it to make sure things are going smooth.

Several more questions have come up in the past few days, so I will try and touch on a few of them now:

Q) Where is the download?!?!?

A) It is coming, we are not holding it back, we are just trying to make sure things go as smooth as possible!

Q) Is there a manual?

A) We do not have all content on the new site yet. But there is a site called http://www.irthguide.com (a little outdated) that has some great information as we get new content on our new site.

Q) Is Irth Still being worked on?

A) The Answer is YES! We are still constantly working on Irth, and solely rely on the community and their input for features and priority of things to be worked on. Expect many more new polls to come up after Free 2 Play starts based on community interaction in the forums and in game to decide the direction Irth will be heading.

Q) Will Irth Stay Free for new players after February 29^th, 2008?

A) We have seen some great discussion on the forums to this topic, and some great ideas have been introduced to us, so we are working through those and will have decisions made soon.

There are expenses each month for Irth, so we will have to generate an income somehow. But lets not worry about this right now, lets worry about getting into the game!

Q) Will all players be on one server?

A) To start yes! If we see a need to add more servers once we open Free 2 Play, we have the machines and equipment ready to go, and can add several more servers in a short time frame. (Like hours)
